I loved this book when I was a kid.

Bill Peet is one of my favorite children's authors. I wish more of his books were available in hardcover format still.

    Enjoy this series

I began reading Bill Peet books over 25 years ago when our oldest child was young. He was a creative writer whose illustrations are fun and beautiful! Many of his stories have a morale that allows you to discuss the meaning with the older child. Our children would let us read Bill Peet books to them when they were 'too old' to be read to. I am accumulating my collection to be ready for grandchildren!

    That's a Wingdingdilly!!!

We've heard that expression all of our lives...Well now you can see just what a Wingdingdilly is and you'll never forget it!!!! My daughter recently told me 'Mom I still want a copy of the Wingdingdilly' She was 24 this year and she still thinks of it as her favorite kids book!!! Bill Peet is a great illustrator and worked for Disney. Even his autobiography is a picture book!!!

I remember this book from childhood and I'm 30!

That has to mean something! My daughter (a kindergartener) asked for this book and it shot me back. I had forgotten all about it. I hope she likes it as much as I did.

    Captivating illustrations...and that perfect title

Yes, quite ironic that such an excellent children's book has only two reviews, thus far. In short, this book was given to me 24 years ago, approximately. Today, it's the first children's book that I'm considering giving to a friend's child. For me, as child, it was a wonderfully perplexing mixture of words and images... the type of story that adds color to our childhood memories. I hope my friend's child will like it. I think my copy is still in some attic box, waiting to be handed down.
