Cassie a shy young woman who can see ghost goes on vacation with her two best friends to have her life
    change forever.

Coming to Whispering Lake to get away from her problems; Cassie ends up rooming with three brothers she
has never met before. She ends up with an immediate attraction to one of the brothers, Cole. Their
relationship seemed to be going well; even though they have had some struggles with angry friends and
brothers who have spells put on them. That is until Matt shows up. Cassie has been in love with Matt for a
while now, whether she knows it or not.  The biggest problem with Cassie and Matt having a relationship is
that Matt is a ghost. But with a little help from someone who cares for Cassie that might change.

Filled with secrets, spells, fights, jealousy, love lost and love won this book is a very entertaining and roller
coaster of emotion kind of book. It is very realistic in the fact that no one person is perfect. The people are just
like everyone else. But it also gives the book a twist in that it is a fantasy. Things that we wish could happen.
Its a must read if you like fantasy romance. It is a real page turner.

I want to start off by saying I was given this book for an honest review.

Whispering Lake is the introduction to the Ashton Grove series. This is really Cassie and Matthew’s story and they do live in Ashton Grove and become close with the brothers that are introduced in this story. Ashton Grove, Georgia seems to be a small town with a great deal of paranormal activity. You have humans with unusual gifts, wiccans, werewolves; it is the melting pot of paranormal activity. This story plays on the small world scenario.

Jessica Coulter Smith introduces Cassie and Matt first. Cassie a young woman who can see ghosts, but more than that she can actually have physical contact with them, she also happens to practice Wiccan. Without giving too much of the story away she goes on a little vacation with her girlfriends to Whispering Lake and ends up in a cabin with three unbelievably hot guys (all brothers who happen to be from the same small town as the girls) if only we were all so lucky!; two of which are twins. We soon learn that these characters all have something special about them. The three brothers turn out to be werewolves!! One of them is very attracted to her (Colin) but her interest in the ghost she left at home still nags at her subconscious even though she has a number of steamy scenes with the werewolf; it really is too bad she is in love with a ghost.

Okay enough with the summary, onto the review. Cassie is an extremely relatable character who has human flaws and doubts that I myself found hit very close to home. In fact, all the characters in the book reminded me of someone I know. I just love that about a story, when I become so invested in a story that I wish I could interfere on the main characters behalf means it’s a good one (I wanted to hit Kari so bad, she deserved a good decking in my opinion). There were a number of really sweet and cute scenes and some pretty hot scenes. There are a number of influences that seem to have been incorporated into this story; you have romance, mystery, and paranormal all wrapped into a wonderful package. Believe it or not my favorite scenes were those between Cassie’s father and Matt, her ghostly love interest! The writing was spot on, not a lull moment in the story. Trust me this is a great read. I honestly did not put it down and was able to get lost in the story. If you love romance, and you love paranormal it would be a book to invest your time in, even if you do not love paranormal you would after reading this!!!! It is definitely a 18+ book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series......

    Back Cover:

More importantly, will Cole be able to handle Cassie's psychic abilities? With ghosts popping up here and there, will they have a shot at a real romance?

Cassie has a choice to make. Will she choose the hottest werewolf of all, or the ghost of her dreams?

Whispering Lake is a fast, page-turning read. Cassie is unique; she see's ghosts.  This makes Cassie shy
and hesitant about getting close to a guy because he may not be accepting of her ability.

Cassie, who has never had a "real" boyfriend, is on vacation with friends when she meets Cole.  Cole and
Cassie are instantly attracted toward each other and things are going well...until Matt suddenly appears.
Cassie knows Matt as a friend...who happens to be a ghost, a ghost she has always been romantically
attracted to and possibly in love with.  But, Matt shows up in human form!  Now there are two men in Cassie's
life; who will Cassie choose?  Oh, and Cole also isn't all he appears to be as he has his own little secret!

No spoilers spoilers so you must read this book to learn more.  There is romance, desire, fantasy, hope and
love - all woven together to make a book that you can't put down until you read the last page.  Enjoy!
