Not Worth It

This book was horrible. It takes a long time to even get into the book. You need to read a book about Taoism just to understand part of it. It also had a really bad ending.

Exotic, erotic and spiritual historical romance

In 1898 Lydia Smith leaves England to make a surprise visit to her fiancé, who she has missed. However, she never makes her destination as she is kidnapped, drugged, and sold into sexual slavery to a Chinese brothel.......................... Ru ¿The Dragon¿ Shan is going to teach Lydia all he knows about sexuality, but the WHITE TIGRESS Buddhist will never release his seed physically as he wants to capture her yin to spiritually supplement his yang. However he finds himself attracted to the slave who displays intelligence that he has never seen in a woman before especially as she insists he is her teacher not her master. As they fall in love, Ru struggles to keep from physically ejactulating but Lydia makes it the most difficult task of his enlightened life as she insists their yin and yang belong together in loving harmony.......................... This exotic, erotic and spiritual historical romance is unique as Jada Lee introduces her audience to the sexual side of Zen Buddhism by interweaving eastern beliefs into the robust story line. The lead couple is an enjoyable powerful pairing and comparing of two strong souls, but it is Ru whose inimitability not seen in romance tales that makes the novel different, educational, and engaging. WHITE TIGRESS is a fine distinctive tale of East loves West.................... Harriet Klausner

Excellent read into a culture older than ours.and you do not nee

Excellent read into a culture older than ours.and you do not need in depth knowledge of Taoism to understand these books. Basically know it's not greed or love of things such as money, power, image that really soar you to the 'heavens' but unconditional, sacrificial love. Not a concept easily accepted in China as thousands of years of teaching stated women were not equal to men and were seen as possessions only. The third in series is absolutely the best.

    Loved this book.

When I first started reading the book, didn't think I would be finishing it. But the story pulls the reader in and it's hard to put down. Will be continuing with the books. Give it a chance.

    Favorite Hot Historical/Unusual Setting

Favorite Hot Historical/Unusual Setting: WHITE TIGRESS (Leisure/Jan. ¿05) ¿ Jade Lee -- I'm cheating giving a Jan. '05 book a 2004 award but I read this book in '04 and thought it was the best historical for this category. Fabulous hot historical set in China with English heroine arriving unescorted to unite with her fiancee. Instead she is held captive in a brothel, purchased by a clothing merchant who wants to teach her his Taos sexual practices to gain his immortality. Absolutely fascinating and beginning of a trilogy set in China.

    AN EXOTIC READ

Wow! What a totally different book! If you're at all interested in Asian culture or just want to get away from the usual Regency England stuff, this is the book for you. Highly sensuous, highly romantic, with a Chinese hero, Ru Shan, who is to DIE for!
