This 470 page book was filled with emotion and God's lessons. Very sweet, clean Christian book that paints beautiful pictures in your mind. The depth of character the author has artfully woven for everyone makes you feel like you personally know them by the end of the book. While this book was free, the others in this series are over my budget at this time even though I would love to learn more about the characters from this book in addition to the new residents of Gresham.

This book started out to be interesting, if not predictable. The widow who knew nothing about the gambling debts her late husband incurred, etc.. The plot never fully developed and it did not hold my attention. Certain important characters are only briefly mentioned later in the story and there is not full closure. I found myself forcing my way through the pages just to finish it. I would not recommend purchasing.

Laced with God - Choking the story with it.

The entire story is being attributed to how God is good and how He is working miracles in their lives. That may be encouraging to religious folk who like to take no responsibility for their life or the actions in it. Those same people blame a higher power when things go wrong, thank the higher power when things go right. . . etc. However, for average religious folk or even atheists this book is ridiculously laced with God and prayers. It’s horrid. I couldn’t get past the 126th page. I wanted to, as the story seems interesting and I wanted to see what would happen next. The writing is good, the grammar is proper, and the story was intriguing . . . but I couldn’t go on. One star because I couldn’t even get through the book without shaking my head EVERY PAGE.

    Super religious!

This book starts out slow and gets even slower!! It is very religious which is not necesssiarily a bad thing but when you start to feel beat over the head with it...well, it gets over done!:(
