The first part of a paragraph would explain how she was totally convinced he was guilty of setting fires, but in the same breath she thought he was totally hot. fans will appreciate Bella Andre's exciting romantic suspense tribute to firefighters.

Grieving the death of her brother Hotshot firefighter Tony, Maya Jackson is in Lake Tahoe seeking to bring her sibling's killer to justice, but officially his death was caused by an accidental fire. Additionally, Maya's firefighting father is dying from cancer caused by decades of smoke inhalation. Desperately needing a drink, she stops at the closed Tahoe Pines Bar and Grill where the bartender serves her. They end up having sex before she flees. Wildland firefighter Logan Cain wants her again, but her weeping shook him.

Six months later in Desolation Wilderness near Tahoe, Logan and the McKenzie brothers flee for their lives from an out of control fire set by an arsonist. He fears his mentor retired firefighter Joseph Kellerman may have lit the fire as the elderly man is starting to lose his mind. Cal Fire arson investigator Maya is nearby ready to begin inquiries into this inferno. The evidence points towards Logan. She watches him and one of the brothers save the life of the other sibling.

Maya informs Logan he is suspended and under suspicion when she recognizes him. He is irate as he has a job to do, but vows to protect Joseph. He asks her about six months ago, but she responds she can do the job in spite of their connection. Someone tries to kill Maya with the evidence pointing at Logan. As they fall in love, she does not want anything to do with a firefighter especially one she believes is a killer-arsonist; he needs to persuade her otherwise.

Readers will feel they are working alongside the Hotshot firefighters as we feel the WILD HEAT and danger they face. The admirable lead couple cares about others as well as one another; although Logan turns super-stud when he is hurt in a bad vehicle explosion, but instead of obtaining medical help and notifying police, he has sex with Maya. With a strong arsonist subplot even with a final spin feeling off kilter, fans will appreciate Bella Andre's exciting romantic suspense tribute to firefighters.

Great Story with good romance & not so much porn...still a bit much though

Finally Bella figured it out! The story will sell itself without repeated descriptions of her creaming panties & his hot huge throbbing member.

God help us....it's never really like that. However, it was a great story with good character development & great intrigue. Worth reading.

Not what I was expecting...in a good way!

I've read a number of Bella Andre titles (Game Series, Ecstasy, Candy Store) and this was very different from those. I liked this one because it read more like a mystery novel instead of a romance novel. I was drawn in and couldn't put the book down because I wanted to find out who the arsonist was. Unlike the others I've read by BA where the hot steamy sex is the main theme, here the primary character was the wildfire while the love story between Maya and Logan secondary (although still hot and steamy). If you're used to the sex scenes leading the story, then this isn't the book for you. If you like a more developed story then this fits the bill. Looking forward to reading the other Hotshot stories.

This was my first Bella Andre book and I loved it. The first in the Hotshot series and I can't wait to read more. This book had action, drama and romance. The plot and characters you could relate to and it was just one hot book.

    Wild Heat

This book was excellent. It was the first in the series.
Logan is a hotshot firefighter, and a hot shot in more than one way! Maya is a investigator for the CA Fire Dept. She comes to investigate a fire burning out of control in the Sierra. Logan becomes her first suspect right off the bat. It takes time to find the real arsonist. The story takes may twist and turns making you suspect different people.
I could not put the book down, read it in record time.

    Love her series!

    A great read

I ended up enjoying this book so much more than I expected!

Bella Andre creates an interesting, layered story, and her apparent in-depth knowledge of the workings of the fire department grounded this story wonderfully. It's nice when an author does their research. She painted her location beautifully too.

I loved both lead characters, and their relationship, though rather fast, was believable. I certainly didn't expect this book to be as emotionally charged as it was, not just between Logan and Maya, but also between families and work colleagues. I finished this book feeling I really did know the characters - nobody was perfect here.

If there's one thing I wasn't fond of, it was the way characters reacted to some situations. There were times when people were in danger, and instead of doing the sensible thing - like calling the police, or getting out of there - they did something really dangerous. Occasionally it seemed like Ms Andre wanted a scene to happen, and put it in there even if it didn't fit in.

But whenever I got too worried about analysing motives, I imply reminded myself there was a big waxed chest on the book's cover, and just let myself enjoy the ride!

    Wild Heat Delivers the goods

Bella Andre's Wild Heat starts an all out sexy and dangerous series about Hotshot Firefighters.

Maya Jackson's deep seated grief over the death of her brother sends her into the arms of a stranger. Six months later she is back in Tahoe Pines as an arson investigator. She comes face to face with the gorgeous stranger Logan Cain. But instead of reconnecting with him he is the target of her investigation.

Logan Cain puts his life on the line every day as a hotshot firefighter. He thrives on the rush and the danger. With a rash of out of control forest fires to deal with the last thing he needs is a nosy investigator. He is floored when he is the focus of the investigation and that the lead is the woman who has haunted his thoughts for months.

Getting his name cleared and finding the real arsonist is tops on his list. But Maya Jackson keeps working her way into his thoughts.

Maya and Logan can't fight their attraction to each other. Their passion burns as hot as the fires Logan fights. Someone has targeted Maya and the attacks are getting more dangerous. Logan will stop at nothing to keep her safe. Can he keep the woman he has grown to love safe and keep his community safe as well?

Wild Heat burns up the pages with hot chemistry and exciting suspense. The passion between Logan and Maya is explosive. Trying to figure out who is setting the fires will keep you on edge. I am looking forward to the next book in this sensational series.
