    This book is a winner, and has great practical applications

    I've read the other two books by Luntz, and this one is the best. WIN has more specific language tips than the other two combined. I started highlighting the points that matter and I had to stop 10 pages in because they all matter. Every chapter has a "words that work" list, and while a few are obvious, there are at least half a dozen in every chapter that I will add to my day-to-day vocabulary.

    Here's one great example: I always wanted to know whether "truth," "honesty" or "integrity" was more important. They all mean the same thing, but one of them matters more to more people. The answer: integrity, and WIN tells you why. There are dozens more examples just like this. This book is a winner

    Luntz brings out the best in his subjects

    Look at the people interviewed for this book: Mike Bloomberg, Steve Wynn, Fred Smith, Rupert Murdoch, Mort Zuckerman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Larry Bird, Jimmy Connors, Lou Holtz, Richard Dreyfus, Don Imus, Mary Hart, and more than a dozen of the Fortune 400 most successful people in America. It's an incredible list of incredible people.

    I know other readers may like the language part, but I really liked learning what attributes are most important to the most successful people in business, politics, sports and media. And instead of paraphrasing, Luntz quotes them word for word, so I get to read it in their language, not cleansed or summarized. My only doubt: did Luntz quote Imus exactly or did he clean it up a bit? I wonder.

    A Must-Read for those that must "Connect" with others!

    Dr. Luntz's book, WIN, is a must-read for everyone looking to understand and connect better with the people in their lives. It is written in a "plain-english" style that is easily accessible and immediately applicable.

    This is one of the most enjoyable business/relationship books I've read for quite some time. Chock full of real-life examples and advice, it will be required reading for my business team going forward.

    It is the Think and Grow Rich of this decade. Bravo, Dr. Luntz.

    Very useful

    I've got to admit it: this book is really helpful. The 20 or so "Lessons" boxes are really helpful. Luntz tells you not just what words matter but he then tells you how to apply them. The book even gives you the clues whether talking to someone will make any difference or not. It's a step-by-step "personalized approach" (one of his key phrases) how to communicate, only it's a lot more interesting and readable than a textbook.

    Great guide to the art of effective communication

    After seeing the author on TV discussing this book, I picked up a copy at my local Barnes and Noble. I was impressed with the clarity with which he can explain what works and what doesn't. The book focuses on specific principles of both communication and leadership, and uses examples of successful people to illustrate his points. It is written with a light and personal style that makes it easy to read, which is a further example of effective communication - he uses his own techniques in telling his own story, something many specialists forget to do. His approach is straightforward, and his lessons are enlightening. Definitely worth reading.

    Great Business Book

    Very interesting, accessable, full of useful lists of words and phrases and how to use them to be more effective. I have read it twice cover to cover, and will surely use it often.

    I highlighted things in the book that I thought were important, and I was highlighting like crazy! I will be using this to construct more effective and persuasive conversations and presentations. I am going to use this book as a reference tool, so I ordered it in print. Nothing beats a real book for ones you want to write in the margins, highlight and use again and again.

    As far as an ebook though, very impressed. I am sick of reading ebooks with spelling errors, weird cutt offs at the end of the margins, repeated phrases, and overall bad editing. This book didn't have ANY of that, which was refreshing. KUNTZ said he was a perfectionist in the book, and it showed in the editing.
