    great set

due to the other review i was worried that when i got it stuff would be broken or gone but i got it un harmed I love these pens they are great. i use them to write in my journal and there is a variety of tips and holders to use the only problem is the ink color u would think they would give u black ink but they give you orange and pink other wise this is a great set that i would recomend to people who enjoy this type of stuff.:)

    Beautiful!

This item is beautiful! Everything came in the box unharmed, I was very worried the glass pen would be broken from the other reviews, but it was perfect! I highly recommend.

Minor problems, but still a very pleasant set!

This set was ordered for me as a gift, and shipped to the store (everything was safely intact!). Pros: - While it doesn't show the outside of the box in the preview, it's quite pretty, appearing to be a dark-brown finished wood on the outside with a gold-color metal feather on the lid! Very elegant. - The inks seem to work well, and are very pretty shades of pink/purple and orange! I had been worried that they might have the re-sealing problems another set had, but the inks come in nice glass bottles with metal caps that reseal nicely. Cons: - While the box is quite nice, the inside packaging and dividers are paper/cardboard with a sticker in the middle, and it's noticeable (still not bad, just know what it's made of). - The cardboard-and-elastic nib holders fall out pretty easily. - The two wood pens are actually painted/finished. Not really a con, just something that wasn't shown in the preview image. - As someone else pointed out, no black ink! Although, if you've already worked with these kinds of pens, you probably already have black ink and would appreciate the colors :) - It's not mentioned specifically that there are only 3 different kinds of nibs in this set, and the others are repeats (I guess that's how I was supposed to understand "extra brass nibs"). They are 3 different kinds of thin nibs, so if you're interested in doing calligraphy, I would look into a set of wider nibs in addition. All in all, a pleasant set (especially the box), but it's not maybe as high quality as I might've expected for $50.

    Cool, but Broken!

I bought this set online for a friend because it would have been a great gift. However BOTH times that they tried to ship it to me, the glass pen was always broken. I returned it the first time I bought it, but decided to try again. The second time I bought it and received it in the mail, the glass pen was broken again AND one of the pieces was missing. This would make a cool gift, but Barnes & Noble is completely incapable of shipping it unharmed. My advice would be to buy it or something similar in store.
