I am disappointed. Seems the Author has run out of ideas.

    What a Let Down

I could gush forever about E E Knight and his Vampire Earth Series, which is exactly why I was so disappointed by this. Throughout the book there's this constant paranoia on Valentine's part that I had thought was taken care of in Fall With Honor with the discovery of Red Dog's special nature and the murder of his controller. Valentine's suspicions regarding Mantilla and Brother Mark seem to come out of nowhere and, to me, would greatly lessen my interest in their characters if true. But these things wouldn't have been so bad if not for the end, which almost ruins the entire series for me (I'll have to read March in Country before I make up my mind). I understand the Kurian agent in Valentine's command being someone neither he nor the reader would ever expect, but who it turned out to be was just not believable, not without some more exposition on why given within the story, which it's not. Also, I know Valentine is a soft-hearted kind of hero, but his decision regarding the traitor in light of the traitor's crimes was like a punch in the gut.
