    Excellent Biography

This book is one of the most enjoyable biographies that I have read in a long time. The author gives a loving glimpse into the life of a man that few of us have heard about. The opening chapter of the book whisked me into the 'Nora Desmond' world of the silent film stars, and by the last chapter I was in tears. Mann's biography is a definite read for anyone who loves the movies or biographies in general.

Highly Entertaining Biography Of Gay Silent Movie Star

I recently found this book and could not put it down. William Haines lived his life as an openly gay silent screen star and what a life he lived! The book is full of great gossip about many famous people from the silent era through the 1970's. It is also a poignant love story about Billy Haines and his partner of almost 50 years, Jimmie Shields. Definately a book for anyone interested in celebrity biographies or stories of the 'Golden Years' of Hollywood!
