A MUST FOR STUDENTS IN COLLEGE

I have been criticized for years about my writing. I was always told I needed to look for a book to improve my writing skills. I would go to stores, looking for a book that would help, but I would end up using the book as a decoration for my shelves. Patricia T. O'Conner's book gave me hope. I went to Barnes and Nobles to try, yet again, to find a book on improving writing skills. I saw the intriguing title 'Woe is I' and decided to read the first few pages in the store. Finally! I found the book on grammar that could hold my attention. I bought it, and improved my writing with every chapter read. Thank you Patricia. You saved this college student from an intensive writing course. This book should become mandatory in schools across the country.

    Woe is I no more

This is a great tool - written in plain English for Grammarphobes everywhere. I'm planning to use it in my 7th/8th grade English classrooms to supplement the text. This is a great find.

    Thank you, Ms. O'Conner

I read this book cover to cover, and use it as a guide for my job as a technical editor. Far more user friendly than Strunk & White, and with a wit that makes it a pleasure to pick up. All the English teachers in the world should mandate the purchase of this book for their students- they will see writing skills increase and whining about assignments decline. Thank you, Ms. O'Conner.
