You give me Fever ...

Loved this story! It was like I was transported into the book and was watching the story unfold before my eyes! Milly has done it again ... Gotten me hooked on another HOT shifter series! There is suspense, comedy, and hot shifter sex! And now a little about the story ...

Imagine waking up in an unknown facility naked under a hospital gown with IVs hooked up to you. This is what happened to Raine in our story. After pulling all the restraints holding her down and the IV connections out she makes her way past the guards and starts to run. She manages to get to a phone to call her best friend. Feeling uneasy about changes she feels in her body, especially aggression, she is not sure what to do. Once she is alone she starts to shift and decides she is a beast that needs to be put down. She finds the one hired gun she knows of Ryder Storm. He takes her down, but not how she had planned. Find out what happened to Raine and watch the sparks fly between her and Ryder until they ignite!

Favorite passage: Damn but the man was sexy. Not just the body, or the award-winning tongue, it was the way he carried himself. What he'd said was true. He was definitely the alpha. No other animal had that type of commanding presence.

There was very little story here - pretty much the equivalent of a porn movie. It shouldn't be listed under romance so much as erotica. If all you're looking for is the hot & sweaty action, this book has plenty... but that's about all it has. Overall, don't waste $4 here. Just not worth it.

This is a good wolf shifter book. Raine is a genetically engineered wolf while Ryder is a natural born alpha.

    more from this reviewer

    Heart poundingly awesome

    "Run!

The loud Hammering of Raine's heart drowned out the single word bouncing around in her mind - the dogs barking at her back."

With such a heart-pounding start, is it any wonder that I had such a hard time putting this down? This beginning chase scene sets the scene for things to come.

The unfortunately named Raine Bowe is on the run from an unknown being. She doesn't know who had her in their clutches or what was done to her. All she knows is that something is very wrong with her and there is no way she can do this on her own. Her natural solution to suddenly sprouting fur and claws? Go to the town badass and ask him to kill her. And let me just say, Ryder is as badass as they come. What ensues instead, in typical Taiden fashion, is hot sex on just about every surface possible.

I am self-admittedly one of Milly Taiden's biggest fans. I'm also her biggest critic. I would hazard to say that Taiden has given us a stellar story but has not reached perfection quite yet. There were points when even I began to wonder if the experiments conducted on Raine affected brain function and common sense. I won't go in to details because I detest spoilers, but anyone who has read the book will likely have the same reaction I did to her return to normalcy after being attacked in the woods. There were a couple of moments when the author assumes the readers will just fill in the missing information themselves. Not necessarily plot holes, just moments when you wonder "wait, where did this come from?" With great secondary characters that I would love see get their own books some day, this is a series I would definitely follow.

There are certain things you can expect from a book by Milly Taiden. You can expect not so minor secondary characters that capture your attention and your heart. And you can expect hot steamy scenes. And she never disappoints in either. Which is why I am astounded by people who purchase a book that is listed with a note from the author herself that says that this title is an EROTIC PARANORMAL and people still feel the need to complain about the amount of sex scenes or call it soft porn. So let's be clear on one thing... There are sex scenes in this book. Lots and lots of Hot, Steamy Loud Sex scenes on every surface imaginable and even up against the wall with people on the other side of the door.

Overall, Ms. Taiden never fails to impress me with the stories and characters she comes up with and I look forward to many more books in this series.

I¿ve recently realized that while I love Milly¿s Taiden¿s work,

I’ve recently realized that while I love Milly’s Taiden’s work, it’s her shifter stories in particular that enjoy the most, and part of that realization comes from reading this book.  I thoroughly enjoyed it, reading it one sitting.

I connected with Raine right away and definitely formed my opinions of Mr. Mad-Scientist-Psycho guy as cruel and deserving of a slow painful death by spider bite.  I loved the alphaness of both Ryder and Raine and the fun dynamic it created between them.  They are sexy as hell, yet endearing too.  They have one of those insta-attraction things going on, but it makes sense and is totally believable.

I think the only things I really have to complain about is that Raine had a few stubborn moments that didn’t make sense to me.  Why oh why would you not accept the company of your mate as protection when you know darn well that someone’s out to get you.  Of course something could happen!  Ahem…moving on.  The passage of time wasn’t always easy to follow, but that’s really a minor issue that doesn’t derail you from enthrallment with the story.

Ultimately it was a sizzling story with a sweet ending, nice short, but action packed climax, and I am very much looking forward to more!

Exciting and mysterious, Wolf Fever will pull you in and not let go.  With characters that will find a place in your heart, and quite possibly your fantasies, it’s an awesome read that I recommend any PNR fan to grab a copy!
