There is some decent material in this book. If you stick with it until the end, a beginner will come out of it better for the experience. That said, there are glaring problems.

1: Typos galore. Within the first ten pages, I noticed several. It feels as if they typed the whole thing on the Nook's touch keyboard. I don't mind these errors in casual work, but this is presented professionally. I don't even mind a couple mistakes in a professional book, but there are just too many here, particularly for a book on writing!

2: Formatting. I believe the format is for another reader, but they copy and pasted the work here for the Nook without changing anything. This caused the page to look off at the start and end of every story.

3: Organization. There is no logical chapter setup. Chapter one carries on for over one hundred pages. This wouldn't be quite so offensive, but almost all of the advice could easily fall into shorter, digestible chapters. There needs to be logical ordering of the information for review purposes. After all, this is presented as a reference book.

Overall, the book contains plenty of information for a beginner. If you've read many other books on writing and publishing, you aren't missing much if you skip this one.
