Warriors-The Prophecy of Fate- Book 1 Star Glimmer- Chapter 1

As she was coming back from the dusk patrol, Cinderheart could hear panic in the camp. She dropped the large bounty of prey she was carrying onto the ground and sprinted back to camp as quickly as she could. "Jayfeather, what's going on? What's all the fuss about?" Cinderheart mewed. "Squirrelflight's having her kits and it's all gone wrong! Come with me you might be able to help!" As he was saying so, he never took his blind blue eyes off the nursery. Squirrelflight was due to have her kits any day now, every cat knew that, but for the birth to go wrong was so unnatural beacuse just last week she caught the most prey during a patrol. A pain ful cry came from the nusery and Jayfeather and Cinderheart rushed in. Squirrelflight's breathing was quick and shallow. Bramblestar was standing over his mate, rubbing her with his tail, with a great look of concern on his face. Jayfeather went over and began giving instructions to her for giving birth. She followed them exactly and a she cat that had unusual golden spots. Jayfeather let the mother she her kit. "Leopardkit" She gasped. Jayfeather gave the kit to Bramblestar and he immeadiatly bean to lick. Then a handsom black tom with gray spots was brought to life "Tallkit" The kit was then handed to Cinderheart to lick. Then came a beautiful
tortoiseshell and white she-cat ."Spottedkit." A lovely blue-gray she-cat came next. "Bluekit. Leopardkit, Tallkit, Spottedkit, and Bluekit. I love you very much, dears. Bramblestar, I love you. Take care of our kits." "Why are you saying goodbye? You are not leaving me, Squirrelflight! The kits need you! I NEED YOU! Jayfeather, find something to heal her, now! She is not dying on me!"Bramblestar yowled. " Bramblestar, you have to let me go. You will know why I named our kits so. I will visit you every night. I promise. I love you. Firestar, Sandstorm, Graystripe? I am coming." She whispered barely audible. Then her eyes rolled back into her head and her eyelids closed, breathing her last. "SQUIRRELFLIGHT!!! COME BACK TO ME PLEASE!" Bramblestar let out a cry of grief. The kits all began to cry until Bramblestar began to comfort them. "Its alright. Its alright. Daddy will be right back. He just needs to do something and he will come and get you milk." Bramblestar left the nurseryand climbed on top of the High Ledge. "Let all cats who are old enough to catch their own prey gather blow the High Ledge for a Clan Meeting." Once, everyone was there he began. "Squirrelflight has joined Star Clan, but our kits, Leopardkit, Tallkit, Spottedkit, and Bluekit, have not. But they will need a mother to raise and feed them." Gasps of astonishment filled the crowd in Bramblestar's news "Because this she-cat has kitted recently and has plenty of milk, Cinderheart will be the kits' mother."
