This is an exciting suspense thriller
When bounty hunter Jessie Becket was a small child, she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted for years. Although she has come a long way from her horrible youth, she knows she will never be whole. Jessie survives by vowing to keep the young safe.
Living in Chicago Jessie has two friends she cherishes; police officer Samantha Cooper, who has assisted her in capturing predators and Seth Harper. However, Jessie is hurt when Seth disappears without warning her he was going away. When he returns, he is accused of a vicious homicide. Although the evidence is strong and she remains angry at Seth, Jessie knows in her soul he could not commit murder. She seeks proof of his innocence, but instead finds damaging information about him that leaves her shaken to the core and in danger from someone who does not want the truth to surface; her biggest fear is that someone is her Seth.
This is an exciting suspense thriller that pulls no punches from the start to the finish as Jordan Dane makes it clear there are some nasty people out there. Jess is a strong lead who holds the exhilarating story line and herself together though a dangerous scenario that includes her heart as much as her life. Fans will enjoy this taut Sweet Justice thriller as the investigative suspense grips the reader throughout.

Bounty hunter gets police help to save friend
Seth Harper was a good man who seemed to get in trouble without trying. When he started drinking in a bar and found himself coming to somewhere with a dead woman in a motel bathroom, he had no idea what had happened but the police were there shouting for him to get on his knees. What happened? Needless to say the arrest didn't go well as Seth was mostly out of it not knowing where he was or what had occurred. All he knew was that he had to barf!

Detectives Samantha Cooper and Ray Garza were Chicago Homicide Detectives. When Ray saw that Seth had been arrested, he gave Sam a heads up since she was a friend of Seth's and she came to observe the questioning. Sam also was a very close friend of bounty hunter Jessie Beckett who was a VERY close friend of Seth's. Jessie was a ruthless bounty hunter, not caring how far she had to go to get a wanted person. She worked alone until Alexa came on the scene and explained to Jessie that she had connections through the company she worked for and tried to talk Jess into working with her and sharing their knowledge to assist both of them. Reluctantly, Jess gave in but it took a lot of time for her to trust Alexa even partially.
Jessie started her investigation while still bounty hunting. Seth was a good friend and she strongly doubted that he could murder anyone. She hit the prostitute row in Chicago and as she dug, more murder occurred and much violence. She intertwined with Sam in giving and receiving evidence on Seth and crossed paths with many seedy violent characters that sometimes fought her and hurt her. But Jess wouldn't give up in clearing Seth but she felt sometimes she was chasing ghosts who sometimes she found dead. She was rather glad to have Alexa and Sam assisting her. Alexa placed a track on Jess so she knew where she was every minute, a process that saved Jess's butt several times.
Eventually the investigation narrowed and when all involved in the arrest thought they had their prey cornered, they would either disappear or cause the searchers hurt in some way. Jordan Dane is a great writer. When I read her first books I loved her style. She keeps a mystery just that-a real mystery keeping you guessing up until the end. Her endings are always surprising and unpredictable. Jordan, keep them coming from that brain of yours. -
