    Good Read

Although this story is the same story told in "Infamous", it is entertaining to read it from different perspectives. Virginia Henley has a nice way of presenting history in a very entertaining package.

    Highly Recommend

This story had a good premise, and the characters were well developed. This is one of the few Henley stories where the characters are mature adults. The story wad based on love and respect, which is a departure for Henley. Usually the male characters are okay with trickery and deceit to get what they want, and the aren't above slapping or spanking women to get whst they want. Lynx was forthright and thoughtful. And Jane displayed a maturity that is almost nonexistent with Henley. Usually the women are running wild, doing the most improbable things, trying to see how far the cam push before they do get slapped. Finally a Henley deserving of being called a ' romance' novel.

    Spectacular

Great book right balance of romance, history and action. You cannot go wrong with this one. 352 pages that you dont want to put down. I dont think it started slow, I thought it was a good set up for the story. Enjoy!

    A good book

As always VH's books usually start out slow, but it got very good. I always like the chemistry of the the two main characters. This one had a little too much information, on the battles and wars going on, and the many people involved. But a good book all n all.

    one word: WOW

I've read a lot of VH books but this is my favorite. I've probably read this book about six times. I know it sounds crazy but that only says how great this book is.

    Great Read!!

I love VH and what I especially enjoyed about this book was that the heroine took a little while before she came into her own - because of that it made the story so much more enjoyable. A definite must read!

    BRILLIANT!!

This was the very first romance book I'd ever read. And it didn't disappoint me. Ever since last year, I've read more than 5000 books, and before I wasn't a book person! Ms. Henley knows what she was doing in this book. Great combo: a little bit of history and a lot of romance. THe characters were gr8! I loved Lynx, and Jane reminded me so much of myself. Just the other day, I picked it up again and read it over, and it reminded me why I loved the book so much.

    FATE

This is a classic example of we always want what we can't have. Lynx was going along just fine ignoring his young handfasted bride except for trying to beget an heir- until she blossomed into a beautiful woman with the help of his very cleaver sister.
