The most unique political drama I have read

Year of the Rhinoceros combines political mystery, muckracking exposé and haunting psychological portraiture in a fascinating exploration of the corruption of 1980s Washington, DC. As our hero, idealistic young Reagan appointee Manny Eden, faces the hypocritical machinery of his new employer, the Office of Whistleblower Counsel, we are taken on a whirlwind tour of the world of powerbrokers and their victims, a magically-rendered Washington that manages to seduce even as it repulses, and the increasingly traumatized imagination of Manny himself.

The novel should appeal not only to those who are interested in the dirty reality of doing business in our nation's capital, but also to fans of complex psychological journeys and just plain beautiful prose. I strongly recommend Year of the Rhinoceros.
