    Not a fan...

As an avid yogi, I always look forward to the latest yoga books, whether fact or fiction, or as in this case memoir. I was really disappointed by this one. I found myself, much to my surprise, unable to even muster up the interest to finish reading it after I plowed through the first few chapters. Perhaps the author was attempting to be ironic, or wryly amusing, but I just found her tone and her style to be completely off. I disliked it enormously. Perhaps it improved in later chapters? I'd like to think so, but someone will have to let me know, as I have no interest in reading any more.

Loved this for so many reasons...

I also grew up Catholic in Seattle, have spent time in Bali and am about to take up yoga. I was drawn to this book for those reasons and more. I found Suzanne's writing style both humorous and thought provoking at the same time. I loved her honesty on her journey of discovery. It was an extremely FUN book to read!!!

Very Entertaining Journal Account of a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali

This is a great story to learn what Yoga is all about as seen through the first hand experience of the author, Suzanne Morrison. Suzanne travels to Bali for a two month Yoga teacher training program. She humorously and with great candor relates the daily workouts. Suzanne is also a young woman wondering which man in her life is the one for her. Is it the one with whom she has had a long-term relationship or the mysterious man she calls "the Sailor"? It is a fun book to read. I recommend it.

    Eh.

While I enjoyed Morrison's humor and candor, this book didn't keep me interested. I found myself skimming over the last third just to force and motivate myself to finish. The author does a lot of transitions in time that did not flow and seemed unorganic and unpraciced. In short, eh.

The perfect book for light reading!

This was one of, if not the most hilarious book I've ever read! It's a perfect combination of travel essay, love story, humor, and spirituality I could recommend. Made my heart feel light during a stressful time of year. Such a tonic :)
