I systematically hit the kill switch on every app and background function. Very safe. Anything that you disable is reenabled automatically when needed. Somethings don't disable at all, like current wallpaper and some background functions. The uninstall button for apps gives you a safety choice after you press it as well.

When you open the app, what is displayed is ALL programs on your NOOK, running & not running. If the program says "memory unknown" the prorgam is not running & does not need to be killed/closed. If the program has a number, it can be killed/closed. Some programs cannot be killed/closed, nor should they. (This solely relies on what you have on your NOOK). I suggest that you initially go through the list and kill/close as many as possible without uninstalling. From then on, as you finish using a program, you immediately open up the manager an kill/close the app you were just using. I do this habitually with a task manager on my smart phone and it saves a lot of battery. As for a review, it would be nice if it would just list what was open & running. It would be a lot shorter list to go through. An option to checkmark & "EXIT ALL" would also be handy. This app is a good start, but it could be more user friendly and a bit more advanced.

How about some instructions or maybe some help on which apps can safely be stopped? Some of the apps running in the background seem to deal with how Android works with Barnes & Noble. I gave the software 1 star only because I had to fill in something. I would prefer to withhold a verdict until after some help is posted.

    Not ready for prime tme

Although the app lists all of one's apps it offers no intelligent control of what's open or closed. A waste of money and time until the app is fully developed.

    Not worth it

Unfortunately nook users cant use google play to find an alternative app to this & this appears to be only taks mgr available. As simple as this is it should have been included on the nook tablets standard (more useful than some of the junk preloaded). This app should be free. As other reviewers have written it lacks ability to just display running apps, etc.

Not even worth $.99 plus tax. Cons: Doesn't uninstall Netflix

Not even worth $.99 plus tax.
Cons: Doesn't uninstall Netflix or Hulu. Doesn't completely kill apps. They just restart within seconds. This would be ok if it were only with critical apps only, but it should be able to kill a third party calender/scheduler/alarm clock. No control over start up programs. The 3 screen shots you see on the description page shows everything you can do. Do not expect it to do anything more at all. You can search for apps by typing it in, which is pointless. The entire list is alphabetical and very short to scroll. You can "kill" maybe 4 apps, the rest just start right back up. And you can Uninstall about as many. You can also "Launch" an app.

Pros: I was able to uninstall one unwanted program, Showtime. It does show many items I didn't know existed, which is also pointless since nothing can be done with them.

Please Do not expect anything more than what I have listed. There is nothing more. I wish I could get back my dollar. So disappointed this is all nook has to offer as a task Manager type app, because it manages nothing.

    Ripoff & totally inconvenient

NO INSTRUCTIONS OR CONTROLS. Just a long list of apps on your Nook. You have to figure out what's running & how to turn off apps then hope you don't accidentally uninstall an app. Ironically, you can't even exit out of this app. There is no exit option. Total waste of a dollar. Of course, its the only app manager they offer. Typical Nook nonsense. I bought a cheap Coby Kryos for $87 and like it better now. B&N would do better by being open and friendly than so proprietary. They are so paranoid about money it makes you not want to buy from them. This app is perfect example of that.
