    Wonderful!

I read this book last month and then had the opportunity to hear the author speak at our future teacher's conference. The book is an easy read but I like the way it puts profound issues in simple terms.
His live presentation was filled with personal stories about personal redemption and he spoke candidly about his past record, trials, victory over cancer, his children and his upcoming marriage. He makes it clear that he is not perfect. His message especially hit home with us who will soon be teaching: That the meaning of life is all about entering into people's lives and making differences for the better.

    Highly recommended

My wife and I saw Doug speak at our church in Springfield and were quite taken by his candid and honest approach and how he shares so much of his personal stories. Some may categorize "failure" or "falling" as a negative. I disagree. Everyone's "failures" or "sins" are potential avenues to conversion. He's a dynamic and charismatic speaker and there is no forgery in his sincerity. His presentation brought laughter, tears, faith and hope. At one point he introduced us to his young son (who has Down syndrome) and his talk about him was very emotional.
Our congregation gave him a standing ovation after his presentation.

The local church here is using his book during our book club meetings and to supplement our Bible study groups.

A good read with powerful and hopeful messages!

Having heard this author speak at our church, my husband and I were quite moved. He mentions a lot of the topics in this book in his ministry presentations. He also admits his sins in his talks. He's definitely fallen (haven't we all?) - but he teaches us how to get back up and how to recognize wonder in life.
I, for one, admire his ability to love life and am thankful he's guiding us back to relationship with God.
This book will take less than 90 minutes to read and you'll refer to it again and again. Thumbs up from this reader. :)
