This is a wonderful book for someone (like me) who has an appreciation for good food but not necessarily the knowledge about what makes it good. Ari is a great host, taking you through countries and history with a sense of humor. He points out differences between very good and mediocre olive oils, breads and chocolates (to name a few) that you can test on your own. This is a worthwhile investment, just like any of the wonderful breads and deli foods Zingermans sells. Ari makes his point well for why paying more for better food is worth the expense. :-) Even if you're not a Zingermans convert like me, taste this book. It's delicious. Was this review helpful?
