The Affectionate Adversary takes you through the trials of a socially mismatched couple and the antics of their very interesting relatives. The novel will keep you rooting for the hero while pulling out your hair as he pursues the object of his love. Download this book. You won't be disappointed.

This was a good story. It was very descriptive of the times & the lack of worth of women. however, it became ponderous at times. Sarah was a prune lipped, tightly wound up, overly moralistic character who needed to learn a lesson. She couched her internal superiority in doing God's will while looking down her nose at anyone who didn't believe as she did. I wished she would have gotten over herself a bit quicker. The story was slow at times & made one want to choke the living spit out of the heroine & the weak hero. Still a great story & worth reading.

I received this from Free Friday months ago. I had heard of this author but never read anything from her. I really enjoyed the storyline it was different. The characters I liked but not really fell in love with. I'm getting ready to read the next book in this series.
