    Extremely Detailed Biography

This man, Nicky Hopkins, was a dear friend of my husband's, Boyd Albritton, who is mentioned in the book several times, along with a picture of the band he recorded an album with Nicky at Wally Hieder's Studio in S.F. CA in the mid-70's. The author had contacted my husband by email several times for info on Nicky, as well as regarding a picture that Boyd received from Moira Hopkins, with permission to use on the album from the 70's, "Prehistoric Raven", that Boyd and Nicky (among others) recorded together, and which Boyd released in the late 90's, after learning that Nicky had passed. I purchased this book for my husband for a Christmas gift and he is absolutely thrilled with it!!! I have started reading it myself and find it to be quite interesting and entertaining. I was blessed to meet Nicky once, again in the mid-70'a, in Mill Valley, CA, and found him to be one of the sweetest, kindest, most humble and inobtrusive gentleman I have ever met - "gentleman" being the operative word here. He was a gentle soul, with the sparkle of a pixie in his eyes. And he could tickle those 88 ivories like no one else in the world!!! He is sorely missed and thankfully his music will continue to live on. Many thanks to Julian Dawson for pulling together all of the scattered information on Nicky into an cohesive memorial to a great, great musician.
