Angel Of Music

4.8 5
by Carrie Hernandez

Three stories, based on characters from the original Phantom of the Opera novel. Three stories, revisiting that universe. A phantom who lives in hiding. An angel heard in dreams. There are ¿Phantoms of the Mind,¿ that send a lonely rape victim spiraling off into madness. There¿s ¿The Portal,¿ a place where darkness meets light.

(Excerpt from the full review)

I finished Angel of Music by Carrie Hernandez three days ago. Usually my reviews are written the day of or day after completion of the book, yet with this one, I found that my mind had too much to explore still for me to set my thoughts down upon it. Even now, I find words difficult in expressing what I think, for truly, I shall continue to think on this book for a great many more weeks to come.

I am certain not everyone would find this book a must-read, but I would surely think myself deprived if I should ever find my library without it. Angel of Music is a rare and precious jewel in my collection and I can only hope that Carrie Hernandez finds more inspiration so that I can fill my shelves with her books.

This is the new perspective I have been searching for without knowing it! Carrie Hernandez is a brilliant, exceptional writer with a gorgeous imagination. I have read the three stories in this book twice and each one 'especially The Portal' is full of enchantment, heartrending love, and and thrilling to the last paragraph. A thousand and one kudos to Ms. Hernandez for a fresh take and a beautiful outlook on the Phantom's story. This is a volume I'll treasure with Susan Kay's book, Phantom.

I'm obsessed with Phantom of the Opera, so anything that deals with it i'm there. I found this book by accident and was intrigued by its cover. I have an open mind when I read fanfics because I respect peoples views and opinions and also their fantasies. I must admit, I was a little skeptical at first with this book, but I must say I truly did enjoyed it. Carrie Hernandez's approach to what really happened with 'little Lotte' is quite different. This book I truly recommend to any phan who has an open mind to different perspectives.
