Zoe Smith is far from normal. Crazy as it sounds, on her twenty-fifth birthday she gets the chance to become a superhero. But X-ray vision and the ability to fly are only two things to consider. There's also her newfound heightened sensitivity. She can hardly eat a chocolate bar without convulsing in ecstasy, so how is she going to get the birthday gift she's

Was a bit confusing at first. But was blown away with story the more it progressed. Easily a favorite new author. Funny, flirty and great action. Could easily identify with quirky main characters. All characters of story were identifiable and beleivable. Tried this full length story for small price and am now going to look for more by this author. More authors should try this approuch. Noone wants to blow their hard earned money on a dud, so getting a chreap peak at authors true writing and not a twenty page short story definetly helps. I know where to look now for a great new book. Writing was compelling and fun. Can't wait to try another. Speaking of which...

I am a big Julie Kenner fan, and got addicted to her adventures of a demon hunting soccer mom series, but this wasn't as good. It was a cute story-definitely light reading.

Being a half-breed should have some merit, but elementary school librarian Zoe Smith realizes that with all that comes responsibility as outlined by the Venerate Council of Protectors. Apparently half of her heritage is from a Protector while the rest comes from a mortal requiring Zoe to either register as an outcast or forfeit her superpower heritage. Zoe chooses to save the world with her powers.

Meanwhile private detective George Taylor seeks a missing magical stone for a client. His investigation leads to Zoe, who seems eerily seems to be the center of weirdness on the planet. While George vows to learn the truth, Zoe needs no powers except her heart to tell her he is the one for her. As they fall in love, they team up to take on a malevolent attempt for world domination.

APHRODITE¿S KISS is an amusing fantasy romance along the line of ¿Mom and Dad save the World¿. The story line is fun as Zoe behaves as if she is the Greatest American Hero except that she knows George is her other half. The romance adds spice to a fabulous tale that shows Julie Kenner saves readers who enjoy uniqueness in their novels from April showers.

Ms. Kenner has created a great society! Her story was funny, adventerous, and a tearjerker! It was a great book by a very creative author; if anyone ever believed in superheoes, I strongly recommend this one! I can't wait to read Hale's story, and I hope for many more to come. Keep up the good work, Ms. Kenner!

This book was pretty good. Not nearly as funny, and enjoyable of a read as the Carpe Demon series.
