...told in a crisp way by somebody who is a long time cyclist. Good practical advice on how to cycle & how to do so in a safe and comfortable manner. Humorous [and acurate] analysis of various types of riders, Roadie, Urban...; Cycling trends, fixie, messenger bags, clothing...; bike setup; pain, and a whole lot more. If you ride, if you are thinking of taking up riding, know somebody who does ride and want to understand them better--this book is a must read. Enjoy.

Immensely enjoyed reading this book. It was informative, serious and humorous. I found a label in his book that adequately described me, "The Lone Wolf." The Bike Snob and I come from two very different geographical locations so some of his views of operating a bicycle wouldn't apply in my world and occasionally, albeit rarely, I disagree with his opinions. Nevertheless, this is one of those books that will remain on my bookshelf for a reread at a later date. I highly recommend it.

This book grabbed my attention right from the intro. There were multiple times where it had me laughing out loud. Loved the historical chapter too. I had no idea i was riding a safety bike. 4 stars mainly because i would have enjoyed more book.

This is a great book for anyone interested in taking up bicycling while the observations will inform old hands as well. The author is experienced, insightful, and full of common sense and good advice. His humor style is his own (take it or leave it) but the information and advice is spot on. I was about to purchase a new bicycle when I read the book. It suggested things I'd never thought of. The new bike is perfect for me and my needs, no small part due to the book.
