I’ve read numerous books on WII, and Wheller’s account is raw, well-written and accurate. I just wished it was longer. If you’ve “Flags of our Father” then you will recognize John Bradley - platoon medic, mentioned thru-out this book as well. Great read.

If you have read Flags of our Fathers, then this will be a great book to add to your collection. The Marines at their best!
