About the Author


Joy-Lily is a silk painter, dyer, quilt-maker and fabric printer. A former graphic designer, her fiber work has been exhibited in New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Hannover Germany and Beijing. Joy-Lily has been teaching quilting and other crafts since 1989, and for 9 years she was artist-in-residence through the California Arts Council in San Francisco, working with elders in textile media. Her instructional articles have been published in Quilters Newsletter, Surface Design Journal and Woman’s Day. She actively teaches fiber arts through adult education and quilt and art guilds. Joy-Lily lives in San Francisco, CA.
