This cookbook is great, the recipes are absolutely delicious, but the most important part of this book is the spiritual aspect that goes along with cooking and eating food. Eating is important for all the obvious reasons, but really nourishing yourself is an incredibly important part of living a vital, healthy life. Everything from the type of food we choose, to the way we prepare it, to the mood we create everytime we sit down to eat, affects our life and health. This book is a great guide to cooking some fantastic meals and really showing you the spiritual side of cooking and eating.

This is a treasure of Ayurvedic recipies! Make sure you try the Zucchini soup and the fruit sorbet. I have not had a bad experience from any of the help found in this book! It is such a wonderful and healthy way to cook and try to live my life. Great your life on the healthy track with Dr Chopra's help!

One of my favorite intellectual cookbooks for 2003 is The Chopra Center Cookbook. The inside lacks design creativity and visual interest, but the wellness and food information is fascinating and useful. Dr. Deepak Chopra and his co-authors talk about how purposely varying food tastes for each meal affects our holistic health, and how our appetite is a key, regulating internal indicator. As a TV Consumer Wellness Expert, www.terrawellington.com, I have interviewed Dr. Chopra before, in person, and can almost hear his voice in the introduction and first couple of educational chapters. The recipes are simple and easy to follow.

This book was touted as having simple recipes. However, the list of ingredients is usually very long and some of the ingredients are not readily available if you live in a small community. It takes a while to prepare so if you are limited on time this is not a good resource. I have used the smoothie recipes but as yet have not fixed any of the meals. I was really disappointed because I thought based on the description this would be a healthy cookbook that I could use often. Instead, I found it to be pretty much like all the other health cookbooks.
