After losing her longtime partner, Detective Kerry Harrison is handed a new murder case and a new partner. The case seems cut and dry but Detective Ethan James is encouraging her to keep an opened mind. The murderer seems intent on framing wealthy single men. Men who belong to a very exclusive club. Kerry knows that Ethan is keeping something vital regarding the case from her. She has no idea just how big the secret is until he takes her to the club. Club Blood is a quick read, and a completely different take on the vampire myth. I love the entrance into Club Blood!! Ethan and Kelly are suited to each other and I really liked how after Kerry's week off, she had thought so much about everything that she was ready to face her own feelings for Ethan rather than run away from them. Each vampire book I have read by Lauralynn Elliott has a unique twist and I enjoy every one of them. I'm giving Club Blood 4 stars (I know Club Blood is a novella, but I would've loved it to be longer).

Club Blood by Lauralynn Elliott A murder seems cut and dried to Detective Kelly Harrison. Her new partner, the extremely handsome Detective Ethan James, suggested she look at the case with an open mind. She had trouble looking at anything but him, he was perfection. It seems her new mysterious partner knows more than what he’s saying, and she doesn’t like that he’s holding back secrets. When the truth is revealed, however, Kelly needs to stop and take a good look at her life and decide which path to follow. This story is told from Kelly’s point of view only. This is a novella with a really good story line, just not as polished as the author’s books that were written after this first one. Lauralynn Elliott does not pretty up her vampires and their nature as many books do, and yet they are characters that will grab your heart. **Mild sensual content

was a good short story. the only thing that drove me crazy was the change in text size. so i think the author should change that.

Buy the other Club Blood listed. The other one is the same price and is the entire story.

I really couldn't get into this book at all and I love paranormal fantasy vampire stuff. Part of the problem was that there didn't seem to be enough descriptive words used so I was unable to "see" the story happening. Also, there was not much detail about the characters' jobs and what there was, wasn't very realistic. If you are going to write a police/detective novel or have that career be an important part of the story, you need to have a lot more detail. I felt that any occupation could have been substituted because of the lack of substance. I don't mean this to be negative, but download a sample before buying this. I wish I had; I wouldn't have bought the book.

I love when an author creates a new twist on an old idea. This story was easy to follow and I couldn't wait to see what happened.
