a person reading this book would have to relate to what mr burney is saying the main issue with people today is our child hood traumas. That is why most of us cant seem to deal with life itself, ie drug addiction, suicide, alcoholism, codependance, emotional dishonesty etc. Life as Mr burney says is not easy god did not promise this. we are human beings having a human experience and we have to deal with life in a positive way and every life situation is a learning experience and a lesson that we must learn so we can learn and grow to the person we are meant to be in the eyes of god. Inner child healing has to be done in order for you to love yourself and forgive your parents because they were only taught what they knew and for you to accept that and forgive yourself for judging your parents is road to loving yourself. Which is the most importnant journey. This is what Mr Burney teaches and i think the reader will have to relate to childhood trauma, if not you cant really embrace the content of the book. I am a person who has childhood trauma and i feel as if this book has changed my life dramatically. Ive learned a great deal about loving myself and for that im ever so greatfull for Mr Burney for writting this book it was if he was talking to me. This is a Must read get the book!!!

Good title although the text never quite lives up to it. The author has a number of interesting theories but codependence seems to be only a passing thought in the book. We are presented with a series of ideas about why we are codependent but no real strategy about how to recover from it - only some general "feel good" thoughts. We are led to believe that we are the product of our parents codependence but it's not really their fault because their parents were codependent and so forth. It gets somewhat confusing because everybody seems to be codependent and there doesn't seem and end to it. The Cosmic connection is interesting but his basic theory that we are doing everything backwards did not ring my "Truth" bell. We are left hanging with other concepts when he introduces them but doesn't develop them. Overall, I wish I hadn't spent the money or time on this book.

This Author presents an expanded definition of the term Codependency to include a Codependent Society for which there is no agreement in conversations about recovery. His spin on our dishonest society includes recovery principals grounded in spirituality and emotional honesty. Robert Burney is a pioneer in the field of Codependency Recovery and this book is merely an introduction to his inner child healing technique for recovery. I highly recommend it for anyone suffering from relationship addiction, dysfunctional family or those who desire healthy and fulfilling relationships.

The Barnes & Noble ordering drill is such a fiasco that I gave up
