Color of Night by Melissa R. Smith is set in a fictional area of Quebec, Canada. Lexa Gordon is a photographer who accidentally wrecks her car on a snowy day and is injured. She wakes up in the home of a stranger named Quinn. Quinn has his own dark secret to protect, but he remembers Lexa from years ago. In order to keep his secret, Quinn, despite his obvious attraction to Lexa, has to keep her away. I liked the characters, which were well rounded and easy to relate to. The story itself was enjoyable to read and in fact, I had trouble putting it down because just when I thought I knew what might happen, turns out I was wrong. This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves paranormal romance and wants a diversion away from vampires and werewolves.

Having a shifter story about a panther is a nice change. Quinn and Lexa have an attraction for each other than started 20 years ago and now that they meet again, it seems their pull towards one another is stronger than ever. Lots of sexual tension in this 506 page read.

My first review of any book, but moved to do so. Although an avid reader this was my first paranormal fiction and I couldn't put it down. Melissa R. Smith made this book flow and "almost credible". I will read more by this author and from this genre.
