I was disappointed by this text. The structure of the book was clear and concise. And its approach to the subject gave me hope that it would be well balanced and readable. My disappointment with the text was its treatment of christian ethics. It was extremely biased, indicating that persons who believe in a christian ethic are ignorant and intolerant. Its justification for such a view indicated nothing more than a cursory knowledge of church history. I would not recommend this text. I would hope that the publisher could find a more balanced contributor for this article.
