The 5th installment in the saga of Uriel Ventris and Pasanius Lysane is very good and well worth the wait. The action is well paced and who doesn't like seeing space marines beat up on Tau? The book is obviously merely the second installment to what will be a second three-part story. The story takes place on the planet from the second UM book in which they fought the Tyranids. It's nice to see old places and characters revisited as once again the world is threatened to be consumed by a xenos force. My only complaints with the book are that Pasanius is absent (they explain why and it totally makes sense, but seeing as he is my favorite character, it was disheartening), and Mr. McNeill's own, current-day political view points are definitely voiced frequently (though not nearly as ad nauseum as in "The Killing Ground"). Totally a good read. :)
