A New Adult Romance Novel by New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author H.M. Ward

Life sucks. And, as soon as Sidney picks up the pieces something always knocks her back onto her butt. It's never pretty, but this time is different. This time pretty isn't even the right word.

Peter is the personification

I bought this book and Damaged 2 at the same time. I was not impressed by this author's style of writing. Probably will not purchase other books by her/him.

I enjoyed the story, this is an insight into another of the Ferro Brother's. First, it was Sean Ferro, now we get to read the story of Peter. Sindney's background is not for everyone, I certainly see this as an easy read and although the story plot is interesting, sometimes it gets a bit annoying the way Sidney thinks. The author tried to get some humor writing about a squirrel attack in the restaurant bathroom. The professor-student relationship, well I have read a couple before and is nothing new. Just about the same stuff and the way they meet, at a restaurant not knowing who Peter is until she gets back to school is what caught me at the beginning of the story. How their relationship is built is what I mostly expected, but wanted to read more action and angst. The audiobook was pretty good so I recommend it, the reader's voice is quite clear and I ike how she managed to make voice changing so you don't get lost into whom is speaking. Looking forward for the next one

Easy and quick read. I recommend reading the sequel as well. Unfortunately you have to deal with the cliffhanger ending, but it was well written. Another good thing about the book is you couldn't guess what was going to happen next.

This is the first book I have read by this author. While Sidney annoyed me by always being so freaking fragile, I also bought the story line because she was so damaged. As more was revealed about her past the more understandable her behavior became. I'm not an overly critical reader. I don't mind formulaic stories and the typical HEA plots, so when something is a little different it rocks the boat a little. I enjoyed this book enough that I am eagerly awaiting the release of book 2 in the series and that I am also reading another book/series by H. M. Ward called The Arrangement. Definitely worth the time!

4.5 stars! This was a fantastic book! Loved the characters, they were so playful and fun, yet so intriguing. I thought this was a well written and well rounded story. The two main characters, Peter and Sidney, had the best first meeting ever. I was totally giggling to myself as soon as I figured it out. They have great chemistry throughout and some seriously witty banter and flirting. From the get go I am drawn to them and want to know more about their stories. There's a bit of sexual tension and it's killing me, but in a good way. I love how everything grows and builds. It's a wonderfully written story that pulls you in. Towards the end of the story, everything is so intense. Finding out their stories and why they are the way they are is a real eye opener but seeing their connection is amazing. I thought the story wrapped up nicely without a major cliffhanger because they both realize their feelings fully and Sidney knows what she has to do to move forward. I was left with lots of questions however, but there is a book 2 in the series so I am sure they will get answered. I feel like the end laid the groundwork for the next book and I look forward to reading it. I loved the chemistry between Sidney and Peter, such a great dynamic. Excellent read!

For .99 why not? It was OK but the ending was terrible. It definitely could have been better. It was funny and it had its moments but the way it ended ruined the entire book for me, seriously.
