Better than Roots, this is an amazing story that touches on many social and family issues not commonly discussed. The overriding theme and morality of the film are so valuable and the cast did a fabulous job conveying their respective struggles and emotions. Highly recommended for those interested in history, family values, African-American culture, or just plain good drama. A beautiful family film.
