A Jewish family flees Nazi Germany to Kenya, makes a new life, and ultimately returns to Germany after the War. It is a wonderfully sensitive story harmonizing the view of the father, mother and child, and the German-Jewish, English, and African cultures. The best movie about WW II I can remember.
