I do not know where to begin, well I guess at the beginning. The opening homage to the Untouchables grabs the viewer, and he is never released from the strong-armed grasp of hilarious hijinks and shenanigans. While the film is undeniably funny, it is the fantastic use of allusion and allegory that makes this a classic. The Crying game-like climax must rank with the greatest plot twists ever, second only to the revelation that, yes Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus. Amazing, The Academy should be ashamed that this gem was overlooked on Oscar night.
