I bought this movie because it was from Disney and it was something different to watch. While it does have some similarities to the other films, it is currently my 3 year old's favorite movie. And she likes Finding Nemo and Madagascar as well. Might be a little scary for some kids as the wildebeasts do discuss eating the lions. But overall it's cute, has a nice message about being yourself, and the animation is wonderful. Looks like you could pet the fur on all the animals.

This is a funny movie that, as stated above, lost a lot to it's unfortunate similarities to Madagascar and maybe a bit like Finding Nemo (the whole Dad-looking-for-son thing.) It does, however, have a lot more humor to it than I think it's given credit for. There's a lot of comedic asides, more than slapstick humor of some other animated movies. Eddie Izzard as a koala is hilarious, and the animation is quite stunning. I bought it sight unseen and am not disappointed.
