Tigerland is the rare war film that lacks war. The entire story takes place in boot camps on American soil, which just makes its message doubly powerful. A brilliantly acted film, Tigerland's cast is led by newcomer Colin Farrell in a wonderful, star-making performance. Perfectly directed, expertly scripted, and extremely underappreciated, Tigerland rests as one of the best films of last year.

Tigerland, is a well acted movie with a good script, the actors are great. Colin Farrell is great as Bozz, not to mention the other actors. If you like pre vietnam movies I highly recommend this movie.

The writing was abysmal for a very well acted war movie that had grace and subtleness, two traits not noteworthy for the genre. Colin Farrell did a wonderful job as Bozz Johnson, a "Can I, Can't I" leader of the platoon who for a NCO edges on liberality and even philosophical intelligence. With bloodthirsty enemies among him and uncertain friends around him, Bozz is confrontation and charismatic all at the same time while the drill seargents see a born Marine. Semper Fi propoganda at its worst or best. Recommended .

As a former Marine, I can tell you that this is the most accurate account of military service I've ever seen. Nothing about this film is romanticized or sugar-coated. This is not a patriotic, Idealistic american war movie. This movie expresses the fear and the desperation that a young enlisted man goes through to serve his country.

Tigerland is a great movie. It is not well known but it should be. It is a great, realistic movie. It really shows human emotion about the veitnam war and what training was like for the thousands of soldiers who were forced to go to the war and so bravely fought for their country. Everyone should see this movie. It is touching and insprirational.
