Mark Yarm did a fabulous job of piecing together an insightful narrative about the rise and fall of grunge. I was fortunate to have been in Seattle at the time and pretty much saw all the bands discussed multiple times. I discovered through this book that I was pretty naive. I knew some bands were using H, but it seems it was as pervasive as the "hyperbole" of the time averred. What a bunch of glorious train wrecks.
