My rating is not based on the quality and/or content of the book, as I have STILL NOT RECEIVED IT. I ordered this book for my ten year-old daughter for Christmas, had my order in on time so I would receive it before the holiday so I could write something on the inside cover and wrap it up for her. When it arrived mere days before the holiday, it was in a damaged condition, looking as though it had been dropped violently on BOTH corners of the spine to the point where the book had a huge crack/tear on the inside of the spine, so when you opened the book it threatened to tear itself in half. The box it arrived in was pristine however, so the damage was obviously done before it was packed to ship. When I spoke to someone online at barnes and noble, I was told that they could give me a refund, but I opted to have them send me another copy. After a few minutes he told me that he was unable to ship me a new one, I would have to re-order the book online and it would NOT be there in time for christmas. As unacceptable as this was for me, I know it's a good book [read it as a child] and I wanted to get it for her, so I did as he suggested. I asked if it would be possible to mail the damaged book back after the holiday, so she could see a representative copy of the book under the tree, and he told me "no" I had to mail the damaged book back ASAP to get the credit return to re-buy the book so they could re-send the new copy to me. Not happy about it at all, I had no choice and did what he suggested It is now January 17th and the order is still "processing" on the webpage. I think it is safe to say I will NEVER use Barnes and Noble again for as long as I live, and I will also further direct all people I associate with to do the same. I only came back to this pig of a company for products because I was given a gift card from an extremely ancient and out of touch person who thought Barnes and Noble was a division of Amazon.
