"Food for the Heart" is a wonderful gift from my precious guru, the late Ajahn Chah!!!! Having met him in person at the Insight Meditation Society in the late 1970s, I highly recommend this book not only as a heartfelt guide to meditation & Buddhism, but as a guidebook to compassion & understanding your heart's true purpose. Let these teachings resonate in your heart & soul & you will discover, as I did, the true meaning of the search for the end of suffering.
This book is okay because in someplaces it can be inspirational for your meditation practice and at other places it will make you feel like a failure in meditation. This author was a Thai monk, and I don't really think he could relate to ordinary people living in the world today.
