I had the opportunity to take a class taught by Lois in Santa Fe on Native American foods. All three recipes made are represented in the book. This books offers both a great cultural and history lesson. In addition, everything I've made has turned out wonderfully. I'm also happy that the book is not meat centric. So vegetarian options abound for the conscious omnivore.
Lois Ellen Frank is not only a supberb photographer, chef, and author, she is also a good friend and my sister-in-law. She has really outdone herself with this indepth, hands on, extensive study of the Native American people, their customs, foods, and traditions. I for one am very proud of her and this book. I encourage anyone from the novice cook to the master chef to add this book to their collection. The recipies are outstanding, and the photography is breathtaking !!!! Bravo !!!
