All of us knew -- or were -- a Peter Paddington when we were growing up: overweight, unpopular, coming from a dysfunctional family, struggling with sexual identity. And did we mention his talking nipples? ;-) There's a laugh on every page of this brief, well-written book. Without ever preaching at us, there are also great life lessons to learn. Parents: It's probably not a novel for your young ones to read...unless you're ready to have some important discussions with them about its topics. Enjoy!

For those looking for a truly unique and (at times) hysterically funny coming of age tale, this one is for you. While it may not be for everyone, 'Fruit' is the perfect quick read for those of us who may not have had a picture perfect adolescence, but are certainly stronger for it. With keen wit and a sharp mouth, Francis writes a little like David Sedaris reworking 'Catcher in the Rye'- that is, if Holdon Caulfield had talking nipples. A real treat.
