It was a good book. It's often slow but its fairly interesting.

If you enjoyed the movie "Braveheart" you will love this book. This is a true story and it has everything. The author really brought the battle to life. I remember watching I, Claudius on T.V. as a kid, and this book gives a great deal of information about those ancient times. When you are finished with this book, you will be very grateful to live in the 21st century!

I'm not sure if the author is VERY lacking or just plain drab, but this book is a horrid read. The author just goes over and over again how Arminius hates Rome; how Arminius hates Varus; and again, and again, and again. Don't even bother!!!!!!!

This book is boring until almost the end,all you read is how much varus liked arminnus . Would be a good book if the plot would come sooner.however this does give background for the trilogy mariaus mules thenyou know how the battle of teutonbourgh wald took place.
