As a health care advocate, I look for information that is aware of specialized health care needs. Most popular health books don't take into consideration people with underlying health problems and issues. I am repeatedly disturbed by their one size fits all health care suggestions. However I was very impressed that The Good Doctor's Guide to Colds and Flu devotes an entire chapter to needs of people with asthma, diabetes and even pregnanacy. For example, Dr. Schachter warns that cold and cough syrups can raise blood sugar in diabetics and aspirin can trigger an attack in asthmatics. Job well done!
