This is a beautifully written, up close and personal look at a real historical tragedy - the Massacre at Glencoe, Scotland, in 1692. You can read other sources for a plot summary. Let me just say that it's filled with the beauty and sadness of all life. Moving, lovely, a book with great heart, a unique point of view, and glorious prose.
