Unfair reviews!  This is to be about the Book!!!!!! And not what he did as a young adult!  I would bet the ones who gave a review based on the draft have something in their lives they aren't proud of!  Hypocrites!  This is a forum for Book reviews!  The site should Not publish non book reviews! It is a great book!!!

This book is hard to put down once you start reading it.  It's a humorous and enjoyable look at the life of a cartoonist illustrated with his own cartoons, and cartoons of others from The New Yorker.   I tend to read three or four books at the same time.  This book has put the rest of the books I was reading on the shelf.

Of course I reserved this book in order to see my old favorite New Yorker cartoons: "On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog", "Lassie, get help!" and the captionless picture of the legless frog pulling himself out of the restaurant kitchen, and to perhaps glean a fact or two.  But to my surprise, I devoured the entire book! Mr. Mankoff not only has an illustrious cartooning career, he found a way to share the with all of his with his creation of the Cartoon Bank, and as the current cartoon editor of the New Yorker. Not only that, but he writes with a truly engaging and captive style. Kudos...A real surprise, a true pleasure!

This guy seemed like a jerk on his 60 Minutes interview and with the draft dodger part, I'm out on buying this one.
