Why didn't this come with my iphone?

I am really slow with techi type of things but love to learn. This manual makes it easy to understand the inner workings of the iPhone. This is great for the novice and more advanced.

    iPhone iPogue

David Pogue's books are always the best. I learned several new things about my iPhone when I just browsed through the book at the store. I had to buy it. I've passed on several tips to friends and family.

    I go Pogue-o

Despite his rise to geek stardom and broad media impact, Dave Pogue keeps his advice and instructional materials true to his form. He is a true teacher with the clear purpose of enabling his readers/students to feel comfortable and competent with sometimes overwhelming technology. As a one-time creator of computer manuals for my high school's faculty, I tried to model my approach to Dave's.

Great way to learn how to use your iPhone!!

I don't like the online manuals and help pages. This book helped me to learn all the "ins and outs " of my iPhone in simple, everyday language, with detailed instructions, that are organized, accurate, comprehensive, clear, and useful. If you really want to know how to make the best use of your iPhone, this is the book/manual that you want to have. Well worth the money!

    The Best manual

The information in this book helped me to learn how to use my iPhone. It is written in a way that you can understand (not in geek speak). I was able to set up and use my iPhone to its highest
    potential for me.

I have recommended this book to friends and accuaintances that I met at a free instruction class. Most of what the instructor showed us I had already learned, set up and was using my iPhone before the class. I also bought his "missing manuals" for my iPod and iPad with the same satisfying results.

    I highly recomment to everyone.

    Too Obtuse

I bought this book and somehow found myself not getting it. I've never programmed before and there were just too many words I could not understand. There is so much stuff this book has geared to people who know stuff about computers. It may be a very good book for people who understand how to code.

    God Bless David Pogue

Before getting his book, I was ready to dump my iphone. Hated it, couldn't understand it. Especially since there are no directions with it. Thats fine for the younger generation but for my generation, 56 yrs old, its not. I got his book and it was so easy especially all the pictures he shows. I think apple should thank David Pogue for writing this book since they were to cheap to. In fact I think apple should give a contract to David Pogue to put one of his books with every iphone. Again I say Thank you David Pogue.

This book saved me a lot of heartache!

This book was very informative and user friendly. I was able to navigate my way though the technicalities of using a sophisicated cell phone which now seems extremely easy. I was a bit intimidated by my new iphone but the book helped me to make my new iphone, my new best friend. I loved the book and I would highly recommend it anyone who has just recently acquired an iphone, it is a must.

    As described

Basic reference in paperback form. Little gained from Apple's online manual, except organized into book form. Good for novice. Power user of such technology would be disappointed.

This is Truly a Manual that Should have been in the box!!

I was so glad that I ordered this book. After reading through it, I learned things I never even knew the Iphone 3G could even do. This is truly a book you should have if you own an Iphone 3G. I watched David Pogue, the author of this book on his Science channel program and love his way of making the book fun and not boring you to read.

    VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Do you have an iPhone 3G? If you do, then this book is for you. Author David Pogue, has done an outstanding job of writing a book that is designed to serve as the iPhone manual. Pogue, begins by covering everything related to phone calls: dialing, answering, voicemail, conference calling, text messaging, and the Contacts program. Next, the author covers the iPhone¿s ability to play back music, podcasts, movies, TV shows, and photos. Then, he explores in detail, iPhone¿s third talent: Its ability to get you onto the Internet, either over a Wi-Fi hot spot connection or via AT&T¿ cellular network. Finally, the author describes the world beyond the iPhone itself¿like the copy of iTunes on your Mac or PC that¿s responsible for filling up the iPhone with music, videos, and photos, and syncing the calendar, address book, and mail settings. This most excellent book describes everything you need in a pocket computer. More importantly, this book provides updated and expanded information on how to use the new all-in-one (cellphone, iPod, Internet and wireless syncing) iPhone 3G.

Dick and Jane for iPhone fans

I love, love this book as much as my iPhone. It has helped me immensely as I traversed little glitches that kept me from going forward. After less than a week of having this phone - I could give lessons - thanks to the author. Unfortunately, one cannot keep up with all the updates and add ons - so you're left to do the rest alone.
