Thanks to a terrible storm, Emory has lost his livelihood and his faith in God. He's forced to ask for handouts to make it through the tough times ahead.

Norene volunteers at a food bank, and when she meets Emory, she is immediately smitten, and the story his pastor tells her about what Emory's been through breaks her heart. But she's given her love-life over completely to God, and she doesn't know if Emory fits into His plans.

Is this the man she's supposed to be with, or is it just another futile endeavor? Can she help restore Emory's faith in God through her own devotion? Will Emory forget the bitterness in his life and return to God? All of this happens in the wake of the hurricane.
